Named after the Hindu Mother Goddess, we named this beautiful piece our Kali Jacket. She is unapologetic and stands for the feminine power rising up to attack those who threatens her and her loved ones. She embodies shakti, feminine energy, creativity and fertility.
For me, this also resonates with the amazing female energy behind Saheli Women, who have put their heart and soul in creating these beautiful jackets. Our Kali jacket is made out of the softest handwoven Ikat, lined with a beautiful silky fabric and filled with fine yak wool to keep you warm and cosy during colder days. Each jacket comes with it’s own unique hand embroidered upcycled pouch.
Our Kali jackets will be available in two different kinds of Ikat handwoven fabrics. Yarn by yarn, dyed and woven by hand making each jacket unique. Small irregularities in thickness, pattern and color are proof of its handmade and what most people don’t understand - human signature. Beauty is not perfection, it is the acceptance of irregularities making whatever it is even more beautiful and showing its journey all the way from its seeds to the final creation
